LAPS companion animal fundraiser event schedule

Participate in LAPS by attending or volunteering at one of our many annual dog-friendly charity events! With just two dog parks in Summit County, these dog-friendly community gatherings are especially important for socializing our loyal companions.

Please email us at and help in our mission to care for Summit County companion animals in need. We truly appreciate your generous contributions over the years and look forward to seeing you at our next event.

Silverthorne Outlets' Shopping Extravaganza:

Nov. 7 - 25

UPDATE FOR Shopping Extravaganza TICKETS! The Outlets have extended the dates for shopping and check-in to Nov 7 through 25th! Please read below!

Shopping Extravaganza has been extended from November 7th through November 25th. Attendees can now check in any day during the new timeframe from 10 AM - 5 PM, seven days a week, at the Colorado Welcome Center at 246-V Rainbow Dr. in Silverthorne (next to Timberline Craft Kitchen).

At check-in, ticket holders will be handed their Shopping Extravaganza Prize Scratcher and an event program by a staff member wearing gloves and a mask. Markers will be placed 6 feet apart if a line does form, but check-in will move quickly and any time in line should be minimal. Masks are REQUIRED and are not provided at event!

This year, ticket prices were lowered to only $15 (because of COVID-19), so there won't be a breakfast, lunch or desserts at the event, but you'll receive coupons/discounts for lunch in your packet.

Here's hoping that the 2021 Marina Mutt Show will be back to normal but this year it's going Virtual.

Dillon Marina Mutt Show is a FREE family-friendly dog-centric event hosted by the Town of Dillon at the Marina on Lake Dillon every Labor Day. Registration starts at 12:00 noon and the show starts at 2:00 pm. Dog lovers unite in an afternoon of family friendly fun as dog owners show off their companions and compete in costume for prizes. All proceeds benefit the League for Animals and People of the Summit LAPS, so please join us for some fun in the sun alongside Lake Dillon this Labor Day. Great prizes and contests!

Make a Difference Day

LAPS participated in Make A Difference Day on August 29th by cleaning up both local dog parks in Silverthorne and Breckenridge...although we hope every pet owner is doing the right thing and cleaning up after their pets at every visit!

Thank you volunteers who helped on that rainy Saturday!

Kudos to the great crew at the Dillon Marina/Town of Dillon who organized the Let's Go Boating and Virtual Marina Mutt events over Labor Day weekend! LAPS was the beneficiary and garnered over $3,000 and this year, especially, we want to thank the Marina, Town of Dillon, the pontoon captains and Captain Dan, along with all the participants and the LAPS volunteers who made this fundraiser a success!

Let's Go Boating on Lake Dillon annual sailing event will be combined with Marina Mutt on Sun, Sept 6 and Mon/Labor Day, Sept 7th...more details coming soon!

Sorry, no dogs allowed on boats, but take a 45 minute cruise by pontoon or sailboat for $25 Adults/$15 kids under 17. All proceeds benefit LAPS. Enjoy kayaks, paddleboards and more for a small extra fee!

Please note that the prices shown are from last year's event. Contact Dillon Marina for updated info.

Puppy smooches go out to the Outlets at Silverthorne for the 2nd Annual Barks & Brews fundraiser to benefit LAPS and the needy pets in Summit County! It was a relaxing and fun afternoon at Timberline Craft Kitchen & Cocktails with live music by The Shaky Hand String Band and lots of great door prizes from the Outlets, Angry James Brewery and Dillon Dam Brewery. Dogs are allowed on the outside patio, so while the happy pups were eating their LAPS doggie treats, their humans enjoyed a great Happy Hour that included cold brews donated by The Bakers' Brewery.

Here's a link to photos, taken by Elaine Collins who regularly donates her time and expertise to help LAPS...thanks! Click here
