League for Animals and People of the Summit (LAPS)
Mission Statement
LAPS is dedicated to helping control pet overpopulation through spay / neuter funding, as well as, assisting qualified pet owners who live or work in our community with unexpected veterinary bills.
In 2023 LAPS funding provided our Summit Community:
Over $88,000 in medical assistance to members of our community to help their companion animals with emergency needs.
Provided 311 $100 vouchers to help people in Summit county defray the cost of spay/neuter surgeries at our local veterinarians.
Over $17,000 for 206 spay / neuter surgeries at our Summit County Animal Shelter preventing over 1000 unwanted animals finding themselves in shelters.

TIPS FROM OUR 2023 ANNUAL MEETING PRESENTERS
We need board members and other volunteers to work as a team to implement programs that will fulfill our goals of supporting our local animal shelter as well as people who live or work in Summit County.
These programs are critical to our community and will suffer without volunteers to assist.
