League for Animals and People of the Summit

L.A.P.S.' mission is literally a matter of life or death - reducing pet overpopulation and needless euthanasia of healthy animals through spay/neuter programs and providing financial assistance to low-income families for veterinary services that will assure a happy, healthy life for their pets.

Need help with some veterinarian bills? Download our Assistance Form and check out the options under "About LAPS/Programs".

L.A.P.S. also offers Discount Vouchers for spay/neuter only for any income (must pick up voucher at the Summit County Animal Shelter in Frisco and show proof of residency - no application.) Vouchers must be used at a local veterinary office.

LAPS will hold its Annual Meeting/Elections on Thursday, March 21, 2019 at 6:30 p.m. at the Summit County Community and Senior Center, 83 Nancy's Place, Frisco, CO 80443. The meeting is open to the public, refreshments will be served, and we will have a speaker (to be announced).

LAPS needs new Board members and committee members to help with everything from organizing our fundraising events to publicity. We invite you to get involved and help the animals and people of Summit County!

This year, LAPS has declined to organize the annual Mardi Gras 4Paws Parade, hosted by Town of Frisco and The Lost Cajun (LAPS will not receive any of the proceeds). Please contact Town of Frisco for information on their Mardi Gras event for dogs, which will benefit a Clear Creek animal non-profit (so it's still for a good cause). The name of the event will stay the same, but LAPS will not be the beneficiary or the organizer.
